Thinking Through Car Logic: Next Steps - Selling - Ultimate Car Goal

FINAL DECISION:

I'm going to hold onto both cars for now as it's easier and fulfils different purposes not to sell, and just get the registration and maintenance done at the start of December.

After that and I'm doing GrubHub and evaluating again, I can then decide which route to go.

And in that time, after I finish the ElectricHealth website, I can decide on which older car to get that I actually like,

And I may look into the mechanic school as a potential way to get into fixing up older cars as a sidegig to make extra money and have a hobby I like. I'm sure I could find a garage to work out of in some way.

I need some more time, and this allows for a few smaller tasks to get done.
- Day 1: Go to Registration Office and Get Correct Documentation
- Day 2: Take care of tires on each vehicle and get MPV's Oil Changed.

** The sooner the better in that I don't have a physical copy of my registration and I could get a ticket for that. And I may as well just get this done. I could consider, next Tuesday, waking up early and going to the DMV and taking care of that task.

THINKING THROUGH SELLING OR KEEPING + GRUB HUB

Option 1: Keep Both + Get Plates For Pilot and Sell When Ready While I Decide On Cars

I *enjoy* driving the MPV around. It has good sound and whips around. I get a short-term gig with UberEats to make some extra money and cruise around town while I listen to music and podcasts.

Option 2: I sell the MPV & Use The PILOT. With intent to sell the PILOT next year for something I like more.

This is to just get the job done. I hold onto the PILOT bc it's a nicer car to drive and I'm wanting to move on.

Option 3: I sell the PILOT and hold onto the MPV while I decide on a new car.

Benefit of this is holding onto a car that is more fun to drive, better audio sound, and more space for moving things.

WEIGHING THE OPTIONS:

Giving Myself Time - One Less Decision Is A Good Thing
Option 1 allows me to postpone everything while only spending a little bit more money to get the plates for the Pilot.

Either way I have to go to the DMV.

I would there get a new registration card for the MPV, and I would get plates and a registration for the PILOT.

By doing this, I basically can put off the decision, while spending a bit more to keep the insurance on it.

Then, next year I can sell both of them.

Outlier:
When do I think the economic collapse will happen and do I need to consider that while making this decision?

Timeline:
When am I ready to get this shit done? I'm going to be away this coming week with Erin. And I need to focus on finishing the Google Ads Course and Developing Electric Health.
In fact, tomorrow will probably even be a work day, so I can work Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday full-throttle on those things, so when I'm headed to Salida with Erin I'm focused for that period of time. I think my focus is going to be only on Google Ads this coming week. Last week was only on Electric Health. I'll get things prepped to develop the site the following week.

I can't sign up for GrubHub without Registration on one of these vehicles so that's going to have to wait until early December. Week 1 and 2 of December I will seek to take care of all these car things.

ULTIMATE GOAL: CAR I REALLY LIKE:

Let's say my ultimate goal is to get a car I really like. If that's the case, then selling the Pilot for more money and keeping the van as a useful utility item would be the best idea. I continue to use the van for GrubHub just for fun and to pay for the insurance.

Then I get myself an actual nicer older car for around 10K as a gift to myself. And I pursue that enjoyment of having something older that I love. And I then rationalize that the
  • Electric Health website is what's buying me an awesome car that I love.
  • C4BR pays for my daily living, rent, food, fun.
  • GrubHub pays for anything completely and totally random that I want.
