Date Of Checking: 9/25
Date Planted: 9/14
Timeline: 1 Week In

Actions:
[x] Add the Coco Coir. (Wasn't able to do this at time of planting bc didn't have it. Hopefully all is well.)
[x] Type of cycle conditions and ask around if these are okay conditions.
[x] Order another grain injection bag.
[x] Order another bottle of 70% isopropyl alcohol.
[x] Figure out how often I need to change and clean the humidifier - Ask Around and get essential information.

Monotub:
Current Settings:
  • Fan Cycle Timer: 4 on | 20 off
  • Humidity Meter: 70% turn on | 83% turn off
  • Humidifier: Set to about 70% power
    • 1. Fan Cycle Begins: 4 min on (H at 83%)
      • H drops to 60% within 10 seconds.
    • 2. H-Regulator Turns On:
      • Due to 70%H turn on setting: Holds tub at 60%H throughout the 4 min fan cycle.
    • 3. Fan Cycle Stops:
      • Within 30 second tub reaches 83%H (when the regulator is set to turn off). Over the next 60 seconds humidity rises to 92%.
        • For the remainder 18 minutes:
          • First 10 minutes H decreases 92%-84%H steadily.
          • Second 10 minutes H remains 83%-84% -85%H

    • 4. Cycle Repeats
  • Notes:
    • I did this a few times and there are some variations. Sometimes the H holds at 58% during the 4 minute cycle timer. Sometimes the H is at 86% when the cycle time turns on after 20 minutes and other times its at 83%.
  • Questions:
    • 1.) Is it okay for them to be at 60%H for those 4 minute cycles? I read it is best to keep the tub at 90%H, and at this rate, it stays around 90%H for about 5 minutes until it steadily decreases into the 80%H range?
      • Will that cause them to dry out? Is it too much fluctuation for them?
    • 2.) What can I do to to keep this more consistent?
      • If I turn the humidifier up full blast, it'll keep the H% during the 4 minute cycle timer at a higher H%.

Humidifier Cleaning:
  • Tank Size: 2.5 Liters
  • Frequency: Minimum Once A Week
  • How To Clean: Distilled White Vinegar
    • For the base and tank, pour one to two cups of undiluted white vinegar into the water tank and swish it around to completely wet the interior of the tank. (Some brands recommend a mix of white vinegar and water.)
    • Empty the vinegar from the tank and base and use a small brush to scrub crevices and remove any stuck-on mineral deposits.
    • For small parts like the tank cap, wipe with a clean cloth or sponge dipped in full-strength white vinegar.
    • Rinse all the parts thoroughly and air dry, then reassemble.
    • Place the vinegar-filled tank on the base and allow the vinegar to drain into the reservoir to loosen mineral build-up. Let stand for 15-20 minutes.
